Hey all,
Well, Wednesday, my wife and I went out on our "Slaughter". For those of you that aren't familiar with this term from our realtor, it simply means viewing a number of properties at once. In our case, because Lorena and I are both teachers, we were able to go at a time that wasn't busy for our realtor. All in all, we ended up viewing 11 different places in our quest for a house. Two that we were really interested in were lakefront properties which were absolutely gorgeous but had some worrisome issues. It was only the last property on our extensive list that will be included in our greatest hits tour (viewing all of our favourites up till now, to see if there is a clear favourite). This "greatest hits tour" is another term used by our realtor and will happen next Monday.
Had an interesting run yesterday with my buddy Dan. We ended up going to the Irving Nature Park for a 13 km on a day where the high was around 31 degrees celcius. However, running at the Nature Park does create a cooler atmosphere, with some shade and some cool breezes at times. I can honestly say I've never been as sweaty as I was today, not even after a race! Sweat was pouring everywhere (sorry for the bad visual).
Ever since the Fredericton Half Marathon where I set my new PB, I've been kind of running around without any new goals. Sure, I ran the Rock N Run in Miramichi hoping to be faster, but the weather played a role in that race, and I had to drop that idea quickly! So, it was during today's run that Dan helped me pick out my new half marathon goal race, and it's going to be le demi-marathon de Saint-Francois. I've run this before way back in 2007. It's a beautiful out and back course, very flat, and with it being late summer, early fall, the weather may be fantastic for it. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one.
Speaking of goals, one of my big yearly goals this year is to run 2013 kilometres. Right now, my mileage is sitting at 940 kilometres, which is at 47% of my goal (or so my Garmin tells me). I really need a kick in the pants to get my mileage up there so I don't get stuck with a whole bunch of running in December, but it's looking pretty good so far. Alrighty Bloggies, I've got to get to bed for another big day tomorrow. Keep in touch!!!
