Back to the blog

Hey Bloggies,

I'm back, in a newer and what seems to be in a much better environment. This blogger.com site seems to be pretty awesome. Well, finally summer is here, and everything seems to be picking up a little. I had my first taste of the water yesterday. First, canoeing with a group of kids from Camp Sheldrake, then, my parents finally got their boat out on the water where I've gotten a whole newfound appreciation for boating. Good times.

"If any of you Bloggies would like to have a cold, you can e-mail me at evanhachey@hotmail.com and I will ship you mine for free. I may actually pay you a small sum to take it from me....Yes, that's right, I will pay you for this cold." Sounds like a bad infomercial, but I had to put that plug in, just in case anybody would be interested, as I know there are some sick puppies out there (not actual puppies).

Anywho, for those of you that know me, running is my thing. And this weekend is a two race weekend. Saturday is a 10 km in Dieppe, and Sunday is a 10 km race right here in the Miramichi. As James (a running friend of mine) said last weekend, "Time to show all of these people what us homegrown people can do". Hopefully the ankle will hold up, and I'll be breathing a little normally by then. But as of right now, I'm pretty sure of doing both of them, especially the one here in the Miramichi, seeing how it's on my own home turf. If any of you in the Dieppe and Miramichi area are into watching a good race, or just wanna come support me, it'd be awesome.

Speaking of running, some of you know that I'm working with a program called "Run with It". The program is training some of our SJHS students to run a full marathon in September (Marathon by the Sea). These kids are already highly motivated, but they seem to love when people honk and wave at them while they train. So, if any of you Bloggies from the SJ area see a group of kids running on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays at 5 pm or Saturday mornings, feel free to wave to them, or honk, and show your support as it a huge undertaking on their behalf. You'll mostly find the group in and around the Boys and Girls club, although their range is getting much more extensive, as they now can run to any corner of the city. Mentoring this group of kids are Russell Smith and David Baxter (who are amazing role models and coaches for this bunch of students), and as teacher advisors there is Ms. Wagg and myself.

Well, I think I've rambled on enough for this one session, and here's hoping with the summer ahead of me, and lots of time on my hands, that I can keep this blog updated for all of you Bloggies out there (possibly the 3 or 4 people that might actually read this, lol). Anywho, peace out...
