Ola Bloggies!!!
Blechhh!!! What a day here in the good old Barryville. Not much of a chance to get outside and do anything interesting. My only options were to sit and watch the rain, watch t.v., spend time on the internet, or play drums. Well, it's apparent as I write this that I must've spent some time online, but besides that, drumming took over the majority of the day. I'm working on my coordination even more as I'm now working to control a double bass pedal. For those of you that know what that is, I'm sure you can feel my pain and frustration. For those of you that don't really follow or like drumming, let me tell you, it's painful and frustrating, :) I seem to be getting the basics of it more and more, but I'll need a few more weeks of steady practice if I'm going to become a double pedal monster. Once I can master it, I should look impressive in a club with my massive kit, and different set of skills. By different, (and this is for drum fanatics out there), I play open handed (à la Carter Beauford of The Dave Matthews Band) and by massive kit, well, I guess you'd just have to see it.
Very few of you Bloggies have seen my kit yet, and I choose to keep it hidden for a little while longer as my never ending search for a band continues.
Wow, that was quite the rant about drumming. Hmmmm, what's next? Let's see, how about Transformers? Has everybody that has seen it liked it? I'm probably going to check it out between next Monday and Thursday as I'll be in SJ to Run with students for this week. More than likely, I'll be looking for things to do also other than cleaning my apt and making up lesson plans (yes, that's right, I'm thinking about next year already, eeekk!!!)
Alrighty, just a reminder to all of you Bloggies that my B-Day is coming up on July 25th. I know what you're saying as I'm writing this. "What am I going to get Evan for his birthday?" Well, I just wanted to make sure that none of you go over the $100 limit for my gift. But it is prudent to stay somewhere between the $90-$99 range, heh heh. Seriously though, this B-day is kind of exciting as I turn 29. Another year, and I'll hit the 3-0. Which is pretty cool in my books. I may become one of the first 30something teachers that still gets mistaken as a student in a highschool everytime he wears a hoodie on casual Friday.
Anywho, that should be enough ranting on my part for today. Hope to hear from you all of you soon,
Evy
